sometimes i feel like my approach to photography is a little backwards.
when everyone else was ditching their film for digital sensors i was learning how to use a view camera and develop the sheet film in my bathroom.
for some reason this works for me.

equipment:
for the most part i use a large format 4x5 inch view camera (right). if you can overlook the slow set up, heavy equipment, cost, etc. associated with these cameras they are definitely the way to go. a 4x5 camera is roughly the equivalent of a 150 megapixel camera.
i also use a holga camera extensively to capture unique views of things. the holga is a cheap plastic medium format camera that suffers from various optical ailments - but that's just what makes the holga special.
when i can't use my view camera i use an old metal body canon ae-1 slr.
